Need help on interview question for Selenium

1. On what basis did you decide your framework?
Example: We have a BDD framework for our project, interviewer asked why did you choose this framework and not other? like hybrid or data driven?

2. Why are you using Java and not Java and not Ruby or shell script?

it depends on requirement by client.
