ANT COMPILE FAILING | Selenium Forum

In [b:3tz9fl8n]ant compile[/b:3tz9fl8n] I get message as [b:3tz9fl8n]BUILD FAILED[/b:3tz9fl8n]. The older structure is getting created.
After that if I use [b:3tz9fl8n] ant clean[/b:3tz9fl8n], the build folder gets deleted and I get message as [b:3tz9fl8n]BUILD SUCCESSFUL[/b:3tz9fl8n].

What could be the reason?
